about

Cassie wrote this album in the 6 months leading up to her 40th birthday. It's a fairytale about a middle-aged, divorcee, art school student, rebuilding her happily ever after on her own terms. The things she's done, "never lined up quite right with a satisfaction guaranteed timeline." She hopes you enjoy the story.

Track Name: Come What May
I don't live here anymore, anymore, anymore, anymore
The window coverins' are all packed away, packed away, packed away
And I'm not lookin' for anything to take your place

Not love, not money, not a babe or a house in the country
Not for us to change our ways
I'm just gonna take what comes, come what may

I took the bus to Sydney from Halifax
My mom picked me up at the Circle K
We entered town via King Street, you should see the way

The ocean hugs our little town
Like a hand-knit, lambswool blanket for a newborn
I'd wrap my baby up in its arms if the wind blew that way

But I'm not lookin' for anything, anything to take your place
Not love, not money, not a babe or a house in the country
Not for me to change my ways
I'm just gonna take what comes, come what may
Track Name: Hot Pink Lipstick
After forty years of slumber, a crest upon my chest crept up on me
I stared it down in the mirror. Tried to wipe it away. But it stayed
I had to decide if I would hide or if I'd show to the world my new-found superpower

Sometimes I sleep on my back to keep the lines from growing any deeper
I wish my vanity wouldn't follow me to bed
I am already a troubled sleeper

But I won't make it through the night
I will end up curled up tight
My decolletage will get made over
I'll show the world my superpower

With hot pink lipstick on my fingertip
I'll trace the lines from shoulder to shoulder
From sternum to collarbone
I am woman, hear me roar

With hot pink lipstick on my fingertip
I'll trace the lines from shoulder to shoulder
From sternum to collarbone
I am woman, hear me roar
